Anyone ate thistle? I had some raw the other week, and it was palatable but would probably be best cooked and seasoned. I've read something about someone cooking burdock (similar to thistle) until it was charred black (which also got rid of the thorns) and eating it whole without peeling or chopping the spikes off. I didn't think to try it when I harvested it this time but am curious if anyone has tried that with success. If it worked well it would probably make it worth harvesting as far as I can tell.
I've only eaten it raw. It's soft and juicy if you harvest it at the right time.
