I've relied on only a few botanical resources for a long time, supplemented by my own research, would love to hear what everybody else uses or has read. My introduction to serious botany and plant ID was through a book called Botany in a Day, what is in my opinion an excellent resource. I also have a second resource called Plant Identification Terminology, which I mostly use to help me understand what someone else is talking about in case they decide to use a word I'm unfamiliar with. My own research is mostly what drives my knowledge further, but does anyone else use any decent, similar resources? More looking for generic, methodical approaches than otherwise.

Yeah, my bad. I didn't log back in for a bit. So here ya go. I found this series of books to be real useful.

From researching his books, I managed to find a few others, but I can't see my interlibrary loan history through my library so I can't see exactly what I checked out. I just remember them being useful when i was doing research.

All by Daniel E. Moerman.

Native American Ethnobotany Native American Medicinal Plants: An Ethnobotanical Dictionary Native American Food Plants: An Ethnobotanical Dictionary

Hope these help.

I have a lot of books but my local guidebook was the most invaluable because it has color photos of every edible plant and can fit in my pocket. 10 years later, it's starting to fall apart.
