I dunno about this article, it seems to deliberately take the pastors words out of context as a reason to rail against the institution of marriage.

To me the message was clear. If you want people to treat you in a particular way, behave in a manner in keeping with how you want people to treat you.

In particular he was talking with reference to women who had come to him, asking why they have not found themselves in marriage (or marriage like relationship).

It's a funny old oxymoron the dating game, all the people I know with life partners, myself included, found each other, and felt something, an openness and authenticity, that caused us to commit to our partners. That commitment started at 100% from day 1.

There was no dating, while comparing, multi-dating etc. (We did all of these things at one point of course)... but in truth, each of us had a certain state of mind.

To me, that was what the pastor was saying.
