Everyone was fucking terrified by 9/11. Most people who have been paying attention to the imperial march know now that it was a CIA operation, or at the very least was coordinated by CIA-trained militants and enabled by collaborators at high levels of the United States' infrastructure. The utter blindness that followed was perfectly to plan. We remember the utterly blatant war crime of the US-Iraqi genocide, pt. ii, as a distant memory. Afghanistan, we don't even remember at all. Aren't the troops pulled out already? Nothing for the court system to look twice at, but a strange Vietnam Redux, a reverie to dispatch ourselves in with Jarhead, American Sniper, Call of Duty IV, Xbox live pre-teens squealing like pre-cut bacon

Nobody cared about the millions that showed up in Rome, the ancient seat of empire. In comparison, the American marches saw only tens of thousands at most. And you know what? They went home.

To be anti-war in America in the "beginning", Fukuyama's lost grandchild, the historically "vacant" early 2000s...

Nobody had heard of NASA imaging of molten metal beneath Manhattan. Nobody took seriously the stories of CIA agents running drugs via international fences & overthrowing 37 governments in 70 years. Nobody thought conspiracy was an accurate representation of our relationship with the rich & influential sectors of society.

It was social suicide to oppose the war. You think the social climate is bad now? It's gotten better since then.

& now? it's pathetic. It has been almost two decades since the coup. We haven't even had hanging of the plotters. The military government has fed us a black president, and we ate it up. They expanded the war, rationalized it, liberalized it. Now, the liberals are gearing for war with nuclear-armed Russia, all just to avoid admitting they lost an election to one of the most foolish men alive.

THERE IS NO FUCKING ANTI-WAR MOVEMENT IN AMERICA.

THERE IS BARELY ANY MOVEMENT TO OPPOSE THE MILITARIZED POLICE & CORPORATE SURVEILLANCE STATE

THERE IS JUST AN INKLING OF OPPOSITION TO THE RACIAL CONCENTRATION CAMPS

I don't know what to say anymore. y'all gonna have to get real. The empire is collapsing, you know what that means? It means the systems of coercion are rolling back, doubling down on what they feel they can defend. It means the systems of propaganda are overclocked, running hot and exposing internal contradictions.

We still have the Republic. Remember Spain. What is going on now in the United States bears a disturbing resemblance to the past. We are now probably entering the early period of Insurrections, before a 2030s of United States Civil War & Ecological Migrations. The likely precipitants of this disorder are environmental, whether Earthquakes, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Tsunamis.

I encourage you all to procure small reserves of weaponry, armor, ammunition. When the environmental situation destabilizes, we will need to move quickly to oppose the far-right elements that will be moving in.

don't believe me? Read Jeremey Scahill's Blackwater, specifically the later chapters on New Orleans. I will also defer to the experiences of the Common Ground Collective, available on theanarchistlibrary & other primary & secondary sources.

However, until the consumer world is disrupted? We need to get serious about mobilizing an internationalist anti-war movement. There needs to be an entry point for people to realize the connection between their own domestic poverty and the foreign policy of empire. Ideally, it should be centered on universities, workplaces, and neighborhoods. Democratic confederalism provides a helpful example of how to approach this type of organizing, but we will have to learn from our own context through trial & error.

There is not much time left! Concerned about the environment, toxins in our water supply, the rising global thermostat? The imperial US military is the biggest contributor to all of these issues! It goes without saying that the global hierarchies of class & race are held in place by the empire's soldiers. The situation of scarcity which is artificially imposed by these hired guns is directly responsible for the patriarchial misogyny which reverberates around the world, and is especially concentrated in those regions which are excluded from markets & experience colonial warfare.

We need to build an anti-war movement which is potent enough to defuse not only the United States, but also imperialist nations such as Russia, Israel, & Saudi Arabia.

A cunning revolutionist could use whatever momentum of the gun control liberals is left, to prohibit the manufacturing and exportation of heavy weaponry abroad, while retaining a lack of civil penalties for domestic residents for the weaponry associated with guerrila warfare.

Moreover, there is a clear economic imperative for ending the overextension of US military overseas in order to pay for needed domestic policies on healthcare & education, as well as a culturally clear moral imperative for bringing active duty soldiers home.

What's more, one could make a very engaging campaign in broad sectors of the youth constituency, based around a left-wing moralism, designed to hold US war criminals to account. Many people know the government is corrupt, and want to see a purging. Now that Trump has failed them, there is a great proportion of people who are ideologically unmoored, and receptive to a novel direction. Most Americans have never really heard left wing ideas, and this is actually in our benefit now. Look at the percentages of Millenials who support socialist ideas and policies.

Come on North America. I know you can do it. Extinction rebellion Yellow vests etc etc

There was an anti-war movement. Millions of people came to protest the war. Largest protests in American history.

And it did absolutely fucking nothing, and gave up. Nothing is going to get settlers upset about killing PoC, no matter the circumstances, and definitely won't get them to actually take real action.

retaining a lack of civil penalties for domestic residents for the weaponry associated with guerrila warfare.

I'd rather not see people imagining going against the world's largest military on its home turf with Armalites.

Look at the percentages of Millenials who support socialist ideas and policies.

And then you speak to them- and they don't care to give up fucking Chick fil-A even though it ain't cheaper than anything else around. Why would you expect them to actually do anything meaningful?

The only faith I have is with the idea of the Union; marches and protests accomplish nothing, you need to shut down the military machine.

Guerilla war will do nothing except make everyone bleed until its over.

i think we will be on opposite ends of the perspectives here, but this is what I'll say--

we are going to need armed contingents & union activity both, in my sight of things to come

but it's hard to unionize when a state of crisis is constantly coming and going, even harder than it is right now-- and there's not really unions in the US right now.

Come on North America. I know you can do it.

Government's been shut down for like a month and nobody's made a peep about it; there's some serious learned helplessness around
