The moral of this story: socialism doesn't work. Because America will kill you for being socialist.

That's a bit hyperbolic, sometimes they'll just waterboard you for defending your village from invaders.

That's a bit bigoted, comrade... It's not like they can help being born in the States and even though there are a scant few of them, there are some leftists in the US.

The United States of America is the most genocidal empire humanity has ever seen. It is the wealthiest nation in the world. The political parties in America are both rightwing and the vast majority of the populace are rightwingers who depend on America's coups and genocides to maintain their wealth and privileges. The USA is the most polluted and industrialized nation in the world and does the most damage by far to the world's environment in the name of American 'prosperity'. The USA plunders the world and murders anyone it sees as a threat to its global domination, while using the spoils of their invasions to provide luxury to American citizens. America is the enemy of all free people.

The sad thing is this is missing several countries where I know scores more were murdered...

And a lot of those figures are the 'official' figures released by America and its satellite fascist dictatorships. Who knows what the real numbers are.

Iraq really gets my blood boiling because that war had so much support for years. A lot of them are covert CIA stuff that the American public aren't aware of, but Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, these are open imperialist invasions that the majority of Americans cheered on.

Also, the ongoing genocide surrounding the African slave trade, starting centuries ago and now continues to this day.

Don't forget that Pol Pot was backed by the CIA. That brings up the total from 600,000 to around 1.6 million to 3.6 million.

Not to mention the thousands of German and Japanese civilians firebombed in World War II...

I decided to leave WW2 out but the 2 nukes they dropped in Japan killed between 129,000 and 226,000 people.

The firebombing of Tokyo killed more people than either of the two nukes on their own.

Operation Meetinghouse (bombing of Tokyo in March 1945) is estimated to have killed 100,000 civilians. Overall the air raids on Japan (led by the United States although British involvement occurred on a much lesser scale) killed anywhere from 241,000 to 900,000 civilians (although most modern estimates place the number between 300,000 and 500,000).

Nikki wrote

You can add 200 more Iraqi civilians to that list

There is also the No Gun Ri Massacre during the Korean War from July 26 to July 29 1956. The exact number of civilians killed is currently unknown, but it is estimated to be around 500 South Korean women, children, and elderly.
