Whenever two White nations have a “Mexican Stand Off,” they usually throw down their weapons and walk away. Who is evil or good is irrelevant? If nuclear bombs are activated, good and evil will no longer exist. Why? Because there will no longer be a human race. And don’t believe those Hollywood, post-apocalyptic, survivor movies. There would be no survivors, unless they were already on another habitable planet. Which would be highly unlikely.
When a rival gang, from across town, trespasses on a rival gang’s turf, a gang war ensues. So, why should the USA care if Russia were to invade a neighbor state? Hint...fossil fuel. Ukraine has a lot of untapped oil reserves. Typically, the USA wants to convince the world that it wants to protect Ukraine’s independence for the sake of Democracy. Sure, that’s an honorable reason. Too bad it’s not true.
“Vlad Putin,” dictator of Russia, wants to be another “Peter the Great.” He wants to create his own world empire. That’s why he wants to invade Ukraine—to expand Russia’s evil empire. (I never thought I would use a Ronald Reagan term.) When Hitler invaded Poland in 1939, the official reason given for the invasion was known as the “Gleiwitz Incident,” under which it was alleged that Poland was about to invade Germany. Of course, that was a lie.
So, what is the official reason Russia wants to invade Ukraine? Russia claims that the territory belongs to them. Sound familiar? All wars throughout history are ultimately over real estate.
To me, Ukraine held the first Anarchist zone in the history of humankind. From 1917 to 1921, the Ukraine was an Anarchist zone. Most of its peasants were poor farmers. The leader was Nestor Makhno, who organized the peasants to fight the Red Army and the Right-Wing White Army, simultaneously. But Anarchy was totally unacceptable to First World countries, like America. So...the Russian Red Army invaded Ukraine’s borders, and that was it for that particular time. Before and since, Ukraine has undergone internal political turbulence and civil unrest in ongoing efforts to maintain its sovereignty. Ukraine has been occupied and unoccupied, repeatedly. Here we go again, this time with America involved in this latest dispute.
I’d rather be engaged in drollery than in spewing out political glossolalia. We’ve got enough problems without facing another Cuban Missile Crisis, let alone a World War III. What is needed is for the common folks of Russia and the USA to organize an Anarchist revolution. What would be the tactics of an Anarchist revolution? That is for the people to decide.
