From the get-go, when we heard about the whole "political correctness" scandal with the mocking UAC announcer heard in the trailer, I feel like it should've been obvious the devs weren't on our side. What I wasn't expecting, however, was a game that took a shit on the vaguely anti-capitalist rhetoric of the first game, blamed a "satanist elite" core of UAC for the issues within it (getting ((())) vibes here), and glorified the crusaders and the roman empire. The amount of neofascist calling cards in the game make it such that some developer might as well be writing "DEUS VULT" in the skybox. It's incredibly disappointing, too, because in my opinion this is a much better game than Doom 2016 gameplay-wise, and the exploration and story part is quite a bit of fun. Oh well, I didn't pay for the game anyways. If anyone else read through my whole meaningless rant and is running linux and wants to get the pirated copy running, it was a hassle and if you pm me i'll help out.
