I think trigger warnings are a good idea in general but most documentaries that depict real life misery would need them... so I'm not sure. Would anyone really be surprised that a docu about fash would include slurs and violence?

probably not but there's no harm in being ridiculously overcautious with these things i think

I think they should be used for particularly brutal documentaries. For example someone posted Earthlings, which should probably come with a warning, or for docs that have depictions of sexual assault.

Just use common sense I think?

w/Etiquette's first point touches on this.

I know some communities in which content warnings are heavily encouraged and my intuition is that this is desirable.

Posting content warnings either in the title or in the body of the post seems worthwhile. But also maybe adding something to the sidebar encouraging people to look into the film's details if they are sensitive to certain content.

Separately; do we feel w/Etiquette is developed enough now that it's worthwhile to add to the main wiki page?

I think so.
