How to Open a Can Without a Can Opener

You really should have a manual can opener or two if you stock canned goods. But on the off chance you're without one here's how to open your food.
I rate these as
- spoon method
- concrete/brick method
- anything involving a knife
The spoon method needs a bit of practice and good grip strength. But it is safe and clean.
Sanding it on concrete or masonry or sandstone ( I haven't tried sandstone). Works great, but runs the risk of getting grit in your food.
Using a knife is dangerous and it wrecks your knife. Use only as a last resort.
As a side note I have a Japanese style can opener. It's like a p38/p51 opener but bigger and far more ergonomic. I definitely recommend it if you're in the market for a can opener.
