The term has lost whatever utility it had to me. Too buzzwordy. We're like 1 week away from "Good Morning America" using the term to describe Thanksgiving turkey give-aways.

I feel like when I read the term "mutual aid" now, my brain turns off. I can't read anything else the author has to say.

To-day, mutual aid is the revolutionary idea of being nice to each other. Conveniently, it fixes everything.

There was an article/essay making a similar point, talking about how Kropotkin's mutual aid was a very different (or more specific) idea. Anyone remember / got a link?

You do realize there's a difference between nice and excellent. Read theory.

Can't wait for the "TIL Bill and Ted were anarchists! BASED" posts.

Don't you know that if we do Mutual Aid it will lead directly to Anarcho-Communism? The redditor who quoted Kropotkin said so.

Maybe because most "mutual aid" isn't mutual.
