also cool that they were split into 2 by amy using the special zone, makes for a much more compelling villain than fucking shadow

Fleetway Super Sonic is scary >_<

but also more compelling? I like that Sonic has to fight to keep his power in check, instead of the boring messiah trope that Super is usually treated as.

Saga is like new age superheros for the easy alternative reader haha... Alien stuff mostly. Very fun.

Surreal collages !! ya ya! I read some that remind me of that. They make me feel funny in my brain. Charles Burns and Michael Deforge come to mind... But maybe that's not going far enough....

It can be about white men and still be culturally relevant. Infantino's brash camp Batman completely embodied the 60s. Adams' thoughtful solitary detective Batman defined the 70s. Miller's violent fascist batman defined the reagan 80s. Timm's moody social justice crusader Batman defined the liberal 90s. Art reflects the place and time it was captured in. Mythology is a reflection of the society that crafted it.

DC is modern mythology about gods (superman, ww, shazam, flash) (batman, green arrow, huntress, question)

white man worship

Both DC and Marvel are trash. This is why the kids are into anime (although most anime is also trash).

I don't know what that is

I like comics that have been chopped and pasted in surreal collages to the point of near-unrecognizability

Well not really that's impossible and pointless

But if the choice is between torching the Marvel or DC archives, I'd say both, just because my own taste is superior to the superhero genre and I don't care about either universe.

Marvel's shit is state propaganda. At least the DC supers don't work for the state and have entire shows built around glorifying feds (agents of shield). DC is modern mythology about gods (superman, ww, shazam, flash) and the mortals who stand shoulder to shoulder with them (batman, green arrow, huntress, question), while Marvel is just a crime precedural / soap about American exceptionalism / US military supremacy (Captain Marvel, Captain America, Nick Fury, Peggy Carter, etc) and billionaires saving the world (Iron Man, Wasp, Prof X, etc).

I'm not really into either Marvel or DC, but I guess it's DC for me because of Batman stuff. Not him personally, but the setting, characters and villains

Yeah they had it at my school library and I remember liking it at first and dropping after a few volumes too because the cycle of them finding a safe place -> being careless -> "humans are the real evil" -> one of their friends dies -> run away -> finding a safe space -> ... never stops
