Gardening/farming and sourdough/kimchi/kombucha. Being able to make my own food gives me some solace. Not enough though.

I planted my first tomatoes recently and have really enjoyed it amidst a cloud of tough times. Some of the plants are getting kinda big and I have no idea what I'm doing but it's been fun to watch and figure it out as I go.

There are two things, which probably help my mental health more than any wider goal: staying away from capitalistic media and trying to rely on that system as little as possible. The latter generally involves foraging and DIY-type activities for whatever I can, such as trying to make clothing from nettle.

So how do you deal with all the media on raddle?
Majrelende wrote
Raddle is fine— I am mostly describing the type of sites and such that blast advertisements in the users’ faces or tries to make them feel as if what they have is inadequate or... etc. I also come more for discussion and exploration of ideas than necessarily for the news.

I see! Thanks for the clarification :)
I sometimes struggle with the floods of terrible news, so I'd assumed that's what you were talking about.

I can't yet. But I can have plans and goals to do so. I am saving to buy land and a homestead where I can produce most of the things I and my family need to survive, and hope to be able to mostly escape capitalism by doing so. I want as much land as I can get because then I can invite more people to escape capitalism with me, but I know that this is an extremely limited solution - so do as many projects as I can like Tequila Wolf, and I plan on using my escape from capitalism as a base of operations from which to attack capitalism in more system-wide ways once it is established. I don't just want a private escape from capitalism, but I do want to take my family off of it as much as I can.

I try to be the sand in their gears as often as possible, acts of daily personal resistance, the slowest possible pace while working, etc, etc. . I try to be the garbage in their datastream, with faked forms and surveys, bogus "searches". Draft registration cards for Donald Duck (or Trump)

I organize, everything feels a lot better if you’re actively working against capitalism. It’s probably useless work, but somebody’s gotta do it yknow?

Even in your haven, your social relations will be forever tainted by capitalism. The monster lives within us.

I pretty much only feel/am functional when I'm making projects with other people to destroy authority. The world is too heavy unless I'm actively trying to throw the weight off me. So I try to make as many projects as I can, and to have as much free time to do that as I can. I'm relatively lucky that I get to do as much as I do.
