i know what you mean and i feel the same way, but an acknowledgement of something that was a transgression, flaw, or whatever is still worth something. The actually doing better part is worth way more.

See...I wonder how much of a personal or subjective thing this is. I have some friends that are very pro-apology in general and would rather have one for a transgression whether something comes of it or not. As to where I don't care whatsoever about an apology and really focus on if future behavior is different.

I feel like I'd like to believe that an apology is worth something. But I know deep down i don't receive apologies as anything other than "filler" gestures.

I would say that I'm talking more about more consequential things than accidently bumping into someone while walking down the street or steppin on someone's show while dancing or something.

It's almost like some sort of algorithm where if the transgression is more serious than something "my bad" can cover, an apology is a useless formality.
