Where i grew up went from like 30k people in 1992 to around 90k now. And the city to the north went from 50k to 120k and the city to the south went from 50k to 160k.
More than double for all of em.

World population numbers are highly inflated.
Governments want to appear more powerful than they are so they massively exaggerate soldier and workforce numbers.

Seattle is a hub. The number of people going THROUGH the airport does not equal the number of people starting their journey at that airport. I only fly 3-5 times a year. Almost every one of my flights has a layover. I don't go through security at a layover but I'm counted as a passenger at their terminal.
