This is a topic for larger collective discussion but my thoughts are:
Culture
- What kind of culture is being cultivated here? Is there a collective project (consciously or unconsciously) to engage with people in a certain way or is it just a free for all?
- I mention "culture" because there are some online communities that try to promote values (empathy, compassion, etc) in a self-moderated way whereas most other communities just don't give a fuck.
Visibility
- Obviously Raddle needs to be visible to attract new members - how should one go about getting the word out (to the right people)?
I'm of the position that an online community that actively fosters a culture of empathy, compassion, love, and solidarity will have an infinitely longer lifespan than a free-for-all melting pot. But that shit's incredibly rare.
anyways i just got off work and am fucking exhausted and need to sleep so i hope i wrote things that make sense

I think we should absolutely promote leftist values and not accept people with values that go against empathy, compassion, democracy, understanding and mutual aid.

Democracy is about silencing your opponents and safeguarding the dominant group's authority. Not compatible with empathy, compassion, understanding or mutual aid.
