Hello! I'm looking for books, articles, analysis and of your course your views on FOSS and privacy rights from leftist perspectives, such as Marxism. I'm not interested only in the sharing or the free part, which are more evident (I guess), but also in which is related to individiual rights (feminist perspertives are also welcome, btw; I mean that if the state has more power or creates the software, how is our privacy respected?), economy (how a socialist state would mantain the software, who pay for it, etc.) or even ecologism if we speak about the servers, energy and so on. These are just examples. I'm really keen to know what do you think or what can you recommend me.

(This is my first post in Raddle, so sorry if I'm not choosing the proper forum or not respecting some rule)

May I suggest to take a look at the various hacker manifestos and the other literature this scene has produced ? Without actually using the terms, the hacker culture is full of ideas about anarchy and mutual aid. The fact that in the world of IT the odds are changing, and a single person or a small group can gain enormous power just based on skills, without any big material resources could be counted as enablement, I guess.

I didn't think about that, but it's a great idea! Thanks!
