  • We finally received rain! I was able to fill up both of my IBC totes which gives me a little over 600 gallons of water.
  • I was able to afford a tiller. It is small but my back and legs are super happy!
  • Received honest feedback, it was hard to face the fact that I still have shitty tendencies, but the feedback gave me a way to see that I still have several areas of a capitalist mindset that needs to change. It feels shitty that I still have so far to go but I love the fact that someone cares enough to be honest.

I got rain too for the first time in months, also Monday was a public holiday so I got to actually spend the day in the rain instead of at work.

Months? Do you have a massive cistern to catch seasonal rain?

I used to have a pond liner at the lowest runoff point but I had to poke holes in it because ducks ate all the fish and it got filled with mosquitos.

ohh, having a pond is nice. Sorry you no longer have it functional.

I get to sit and watch the bees pollinate all the wild kale, radish, and parsley I have growing. It's a lot of fun. I watched some spiders capture some flies that really seem to like hanging out near radish flowers.

My little cousins came into town for a few days, my first time having seen them since a death in the family; it was nice to play with them outside that context. We made lego stop-motion, built a couch fort, and So. Much. Chase.

And I’m seeing my partner in a couple days; it’s their birthday week and I’ve been preparing presents (also feat: lego) so I’m excited about that.

Got some work done for my official life for the first time in a long time, which is a spark of hope that my life won't plummet into new levels of hard.

And I'm still managing to get a lot done. It might be that when things are hardest I work the most, because most I'm aware then that things could be so much worse.

I presented my master's thesis on Monday and it actually went pretty well! I got a lot of compliments from my friends afterwords, and my supervisors seemed really happy with my work.
