3 mods got removed from the chapo sub by reddit admins because they refused to take down posts that endorse john brown and the killing of slaveowners, and now the sub is on the verge of getting banned.

somerandomletters wrote

It wasn't even them refusing to take them down, they were just "neglecting" to take them down. It's now restricted. They've got some new mods and have confirmed that posts that incite violence against anyone, even slaveowners, will be removed, so now you have to "bop" them instead. r/CompleteAnarchy could get banned as well as the anti-slaveowner meme has spread over there.

sparc64 wrote

Of all the times the chapo subreddit has joked about killing landlords, the time the reddit admins decided to mess with their sub is when they started praising killing slaveowners. The admins are threatening to ban the sub over it, which is ridiculous.

21

Kojo wrote

Essentially, r/chapotraphouse is gonna get banned over memes about killing slave owners

Kalysta wrote

Meanwhile over at T_D they regularly plan to murder leftists, minorities, and people of other religions, and praise murderers like the Christ Church shooter, but that sub is AOK because they share a political ideology with Spez.

And they advertised the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, but nobody talks about that anymore.

Yeah, I remember seeing that post when it was first up and getting freaked out. It was during a period when I would go through the_donald’s new posts and downvote the worst of them to try and keep the overall sub from getting worse and worse. A fool’s errand

May I ask what is your obsession with cucks and sexual submissives in general? Seems like a general kink shaming thing, not very cool, but I’ll let it slide since we’re friends.

Found out about this from a chapo thread. Honestly, though, I’ve been sick of reddit’s bullshit for awhile now, and this site looks nice so far. Question: is there an API for this? I’m working on a discord bot and would love to make a plugin similar to some of the reddit ones I’ve seen.

8

Fossidarity wrote (edited )

No there isn't one yet, me and the creator of the software Raddle is running on (Postmill) did an attempt for it using api-platform but we got stuck at denormalization. Any pull requests related to this would be highly appreciated!

This is great! I've been poking around the site a bit more and like it a lot. I've seen so many sites where a reddit exodus takes it off the ground for a bit and then the posts slowly dwindle to a trickle.. or sites where a couple of people post but there's little community interaction. So I'm happy to hear there's a strong community history here. Thanks for making this site!

First time around, basically got involved in online feminism and social justice via SRS nearly 10 years ago, so was on reddit being anti-reddit, which took me to The Fempire off-reddit site, which eventually took me here.

Then I got consumed by twitter (worst decision I ever made was opening an account there) and a bunch of meat-space activism for a few years, burnt out, quit social media, became pretty much a hermit.

Came back to reddit purely for the familiarity and safety of SRS and affiliated subs, found there's way more leftist subs now, tooled around in those, saw some cool stuff ziq wrote, reminded me raddle exists, came back here with a new account.

Reddit anarchism got boring. Mostly new kids having the same conversation. I found the leftist spaces liberalizing hella fast, and I wanted more avant garde discussions. So I ended up here. Overall it's been positive.

I used to be v into the reddit anarchist subs but after a while you just see the same shit again and again. Most if it isn't even anarchist, esp on /completeanarchy. I remember posting an anti-authoritarian meme therr that referenced Cuba and it was downvoted hundreds of times.
