I've:

  • Sewn a hammock with a tarp
  • Halfway finished a synthesizer
  • Programmed a lot of projects including most of the now temporarily dead Raddle bots
  • Build a soundsystem
  • Grown evil psychedelic mushrooms

I want to:

  • Create a mahjong set from wood
  • Solder more
  • Sew my own clothes
  • Make drugs (DMT & weed)

I've crocheted numerous blankets, scarves, and hats. I am currently sewing my first thing ever: PJ pants for my kid. I'm using a sewing machine for the second time ever, so it's a little slower going than I anticipated. Yet, I remain excited about it!

Fixing holes is a pretty good start! It saves you money, and keeps all those clothes outta the dump. Youtube has been a huge help for me, as there are videos on everything from threading your particular machine, to detailed instructions on how to sew all different clothing items. Lounge pants/pajama pants are a great place to start, as it doesn't matter too much how they look, so long as they fit, and it gives you all the basics for sewing pants. Skirts are very straightforward too if you wear skirts, or you know somebody who does and wants them. Napkins are also super basic, and always useful.

I had a hole in the groin of my cargo trousers for months that kept getting bigger until I finally had to buy a new pair because people were staring.

Most of the crochet stuff I have given away, but I'll see if I still have a blanket or two laying around, and I'd be happy to share. And, I'll try to get pictures once I finally get those PJ pants finished.

Some kind of felted cloth, probably a cotton-wool blend. I got the bolt cheap at a warehouse. It's thin enough to keep cool but thick enough to keep rain off. I have to mend both my cloaks though, they're both torn up bad right now.

I make simple oboes or shawms (I call them strawms) out of plastic straws. You really only need a craft knife and sandpaper, but I even made a working one by just tearing the plastic with my teeth when I was out and about.

Otherwise I start lots of bigger projects but can rarely finish

I would love to start working with clay. Additionally, I have a goal of building a kickwheel, though that's likely a still a little while away.

I make tons of free and open-source software! Check out my github. There's a Cloud SaaS I made that smokes ownCloud (my opinion), file conversion server, A/V scanning server, a bunch of Windows Sysadmin tools, my own compression algorithm, and more.

Lots of my projects are self-hosted alternatives to large Cloud services. For those who aren't looking to create their own Cloud and just want a free, unlimited place to host stuff that doesn't rely on ads or tracking check out my Cloud PaaS website, HonestRepair.net. It's completely hosted in-house on custom built servers. If you run the website through PageSpeed or GTMetrix you'll see that every script is hosted on our servers (no CDN's, no Google fonts, no Google Ads, no 3rd party analytics). And once my Dovecot/Postfix is up-and-running that will be internal as well.

I doomsday prep a little differently than most people.

I made a pressure flaker out of a stick, a little wood glue, and some copper wire. Still gotta make the other tools and learn how to use them but it's a start. Made some simple toys for my kids with wood and parachord.

I love crafting wood things as a super noon I made some shelving for plants out of recycled fence posts a couple years ago. I built a computer once. I also fixed my car a few times which was cool
