I have recently made the choice to accept Christ/God/Christianity back into my life, specifically anarchist quakerism, after reading the works of Ammon Hennacy. I was raised non-denominational but have been transitioning from deist -> agnostic -> atheist -> anti-theist for the last ~5 years.

I've just now recently made the decision to refer to myself as a deist Quaker/Christian but I am just getting started. I need resources that arent your typical Bible-Belt BS, no local Friends churches in my area :/

Last church I went to a pastor straight-up told the audience it was their Christian responsibility to vote Republican. Yuck.

Also if youre a Christian Anarchist and willing to help me figure this out, please PM me. I know this is a bit of a shot-in-the-dark as Raddle is largely oriented to eastern religion and spirituality. For now im just going to find my old Bible, rip out the first half and start re-reading the second.

The closest thing to what you're looking for seems like it would be a Unitarian Universalist church. If you have one in your area, they are very accepting and are the most progressive church in the US.

I'm atheist, but if I were to drag myself to some kind of community service on the weekends it would be the UU. It's on my todo list.

For something more Christian-focused, I recommend taking a look at the United Church of Christ, UCC. Last time I checked they were pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQIA+ and their central governing body, if you can call it that, had relatively little power. However, that same lack of centralized control means that individual UCC parishes can deviate from the organization norm and still keep the name.

I'm also an atheist and I attend a UU church every Sunday. My congregation is somewhere between culturally christian but don't really believe and atheist. They are very accepting and actively fight for LGBTQ, BLM issues and work hard to provide food and shelter for everyone in our community.

If it's in public, the convo will help multiple ppl that read it. In pms it would only help you.
