check out Slab City, California. it's not cooperative at the moment, but it's 100% anarchist atm. it's in the middle of the fucking desert, and you're allowed to do whatever you want. people will be cool if you're cool, if you upset everybody, you can get murdered and they'll never bother looking for the killer. it's a hostile environment, but this could be the place to start a commune.

also the forest near Ft. Bragg, and the mountains near Redding are both fairly lawless, both of which are technically within local jurisdiction, but are FAR more hospitable than Slab City.

I don't want to move out of the US, because I think that only avoids the problem rather than addresses it. The US doesn't stop existing as it is if I leave and it remains the dominant Capitalist hegemon State of the world. I and others cannot be truly free so long as the US continues to be what it is. Instead of leaving, my plan is to join an urban commune so that I can live in the way that I desire to and apply Anarchist Praxis in my own life. I'd also like to work with others to create dual power, mutual-aid networks, etc... to provide a genuine and expanding alternative to Capitalist society.

Does it matter? Wherever I would move to I still wouldn't support the system that exists elsewhere. And honestly, the United Snakes is in an interesting place in its history. While state repression/oppression is at an all time high we are still claiming victories more often than in the past.

i guess we can say that both sides are a hell of a lot more active than they used to be

Both sides of what? I'm not trying to antagonize, just get a precise understanding of what you mean.

As an anarchist I think we are outlyers of any actual political 'sides.' if you are referring to the so called alt-right in juxtaposition, then I would say we just pushed them underground in the 90's and they have continued to organize since. Specifically with the new political climate, the feel more secure being upfront with thier ideas. We have gotten more active, but history speaks volumes on the need and response of anarchism specifically in the US.

All of my family and friends live here, I can't leave.

My first inclination is somewhere Scandinavian. However, the one concern I have is diversity. I live close enough to a major US city that my wife and I and our kids have friends and acquaintances of just about every major world religion and ethnicity. I think that's a good environment, and I don't want to go somewhere that is dominated by one ethnicity and religious affiliation.

This, basically. I'm only still here because there's too many people I care about. I couldn't shame myself by abandoning them. And if we left, we're still a bunch of queers, predominately pagan, and I'm in an interracial relationship. The best we could hope for is getting somewhere isolated enough to be left the fuck alone.

I'd rather die here fighting the bullshit than accept it as a fact and walk away.

Americans moving out of the US should send chills down everyone's spines. Just look at Liberia.

Come on ziq, you can't blame general butt naked on US expats! Lol.

I want to be in the belly of the beast. It has to start here, the US has to go down first, or else they'll CIA-coup that shit faster than a pig eats a dozen donuts.

preferably by the late 2020s, the USSA

realistically? Cuba.

maybe a social-democratic country like Canada or anywhere in Europe.

I kinda want to do a neozapatismo thing in the middle of a militarily-weaker or more progressive country like France or something. live off the land, protect ourselves from french administration.

yknow, maybe make a commune in the California desert by Salvation Mountain, where there is no government administration in any way. only problem is it's not exactly hospitable climate.

I don't want to move. All countries suck. I wouldn't fare much better anywhere else. I want to eat the United States' regime from the inside and establish a better political environment founded on the principles of leftist anarchism and mutual aid.

There is no need to refer to it as leftist anarchism. Anarchism alone will suffice. Don't allow it to be coopted into something it definitely isn't nor ever will be.
