I ordered my winter cloak, but I made my summer cloak out of a thinner felted cloth. Linen is a really good material if you can get it, or a lighter wool. If you're not going to be super active, I'd get a bell-shaped one that circles your entire body when it's clasped. But if you're going to be moving around and need your arms a lot, make a brat (Irish cloak with multiple 'tails' that can be draped as you like) or a square cloak. They don't take very long to make, my summer one only cost me about 20-30 bucks to make and a few hours of my time. But buying them online can get very, very expensive because of how deprecated sewing is as a skill.
