Or live in a fantasy land, shout at pigeons and have the total outcome of your life, in terms of the change you have made to be zero.

Oh no! My life is meaningless in the grand scale of things! My name won't go down in history like Napoleon, Stalin or Mao! The horror!

Go bark at another tree.

While I’m not pro-reformism, on the timescales we have left on Earth, reforming might be the optimal path to minimal suffering. At a minimum it may slow the overtake of fascism until the world goes full on Mad Max in 50-70 years.

A full out revolution will cause immense suffering, instability and death for decades and a high risk of corrupt power structures taking the place of currently corrupt power structures. If we don’t have a reasonable planet to live on, what’s the point, why take that risk?

We're on the brisk of ecological collapse, the capitalist have a hard on for the oil in the poles and new shorter trade routes. Only a full scale revolution can prevent that, but it'll likely not start until it already has. Humans have no time for reform.

Not sure I agree. But it seems a lot of radicals enjoy the privilege of their ideal reality being impossible, so they often gloss over the immense suffering they would cause as if it will all be worth it in the end on top of naively ignoring that the wealthy and powerful always find a way to use chaos to secure even more power.

I don't think it's impossible, it ends up being a simpler life than the current one. You won't find anyone here romanticizing the revolution, it's would be a world war, and we all old enough to know what that entails.

But that's necessary for capitalism to be abolished and man kind liberated from the shackles of capital.
