I don't think that my politics have changed here, but raddle has been a good space for me to work on articulating them as well as I can, and against different types of people.

I know at least one person who identifie(d/s) as Marxist who has come to fundamentally distrust authority after hanging out around here with anarchists as much as she did, though.

I don't think they've changed, but I've been given much more to think about. Raddle is, as far as anarchist/communist spaces tend to go, fairly open and friendly, so it's really served, for me, as more of a place where I feel free to actually include my thoughts and ideas. Quite a welcome change!

I have without a doubt both changed and refined myself and my politics thanks to this community. It's also motivated me to start reading a lot more, which is nice. I just bought Direct Struggle Against Capital from my local anarchist book café, and Profit and Exploitation from AK Press, after discussing (and lurking on discussions about) similar topics on here.

I'm a much better monopoly player now that I have a better grasp of how capitalists operate.

I am not sure if they've changed, but I feel as though I can explain my views in ways that are much more understandable and relatable to people now. So it improves my ability to persuade and make people sympathetic to anarchist causes.

My politics have been emboldened by the fact that this community exists and from many links I've read from here. The discussion often includes enough intersectional solidarity with oppressed groups and dedicates a larger platform for marginalized needs and voices. It makes me happy to see a "reddit clone" go in this direction, because I left reddit long before Raddle existed, and was not happy with voat.

For once I feel like I can be part of the conversation instead of simply lurking and raging in silence at massive amounts of ignorant posts on reddit (or any other social site, pretty much...)

I've only made an account after defasher and the other sharpies fucked off and removed themselves from moderator positions. While my politics (egoist communism as of right now) are always changing, I haven't been here long enough.

What makes Raddle different/better than Voat?

You won't get silenced and banned for not being a nazi. For starters. Check out our wiki for 100 other reasons.

Leaning more in a post-civ/egoist direction than when I first showed up (ancom with transhumanist tendencies)

all you people saying 'read Desert' was a good idea

That's pretty remarkable - so far as changes go it's quite substantial.

I'd love to hear more, if you have any thoughts about what elements of Desert or other reading specifically brought you to start moving your politics.

If you can't help but talk about gassing jews, you're not welcome here. It's not hard to refrain from being a racist piece of shit.

I was a more traditional syndicalist prior, but this forum and recent events in the Middle East have destroyed all trust I had in authority, and I've since become an ancom.
