I think some of the more defined ideologies, with central authors and so on, attract a very similar audience personality-wise. The same doesn't go for anarchism in my experience, i think it's mostly because anarchism is such a simple idea, and there's many possible angles and expansions on it.

Anarchy is basically a mindset shared by people that are prone to questioning the constructed boxes that are placed on them.

Most other political identities have sets of rules and doctrines to abide by - i.e. constructed boxes they place on themselves and other people.

Anarchists want to break down walls, while others build them ever higher.

Not having illegitimate authority exercise it's arbitrary power over you is a pretty damned simple concept. Muh human nature!

I don't think they're closely linked, but I think your personality type definitely makes you more inclined toward a certain ideology.

William Gillis (rechelon) wrote a pretty interesting essay about how/why people get into anarchism, Sociological Entrypoints to Anarchism.

I think that's true to an extent. Authoritarians and reactionaries generally have the same tendencies from their politics to their interpersonal relationships. But plenty of people don't have a well defined or thought out politics, so for them it might not be related.

They're a transhumanist, right? A lot of that list reads like how to identify as an anarchist without ever understanding anarchy.

He just noted characteristics that people typically share. I don't agree with something like 95% of what he writes but he's a solid anarchist and a comrade.

Yeah but a very narrow sample of people (white middle class college students, I'm guessing).

I mean I can't speak to that without some hard stats. But in my experience that's not necessarily the case.

Dude's a legit anarchist, if he can't speak about anarchist trends he notices I don't know who can. He's been involved in the scene like his whole life.

I think everything about us is closely linked. Our political affiliation are both a product of our personality and influences in our personality.
