Old Norse anthropology. There's so much we could learn if we didn't spend all our time just looking at their raiders applying assumptions from them to the whole and actually studied the contributing cultures in depth. Communal judgement and decision-making, women's rights and a certain level of permissiveness for gender variance, making adequate food and comfort from very little material.
