Read my post. I said it wasn't perfect yet. The real truth, though, is that we are making progress. It may be small and minute progress, but it is progress and progress in human rights is always a good thing. Always celebrate your victories, however small they may be.

Donald Trump has been blocked every step of the way when it comes to his Muslim ban and trying to overturn DACA, showing that the vast majority of the pop support both, and Trump and co. are the real minorities. In general, the population as a whole, overwhelmingly supports most advances in human rights.

We have elections like that of Danica Roem, where not only is she the first openly trans person to win a seat in a state legislator, she unseated a 13-time incumbent who lobbied for a Bathroom Bill and attacked her trans status as part of his campaign. Most of Trump's candidates and policies have been viciously attacked and gone down in flames and many times on this very board, we've talked about how the alt-Right is being defeated at every turn.

While Trump and his merry band of assholes are scary and we need to keep fighting them at every turn, the simple truth is that we are slowly and incrementally moving towards a fairer, more equal world. Don't let the loudness of their arguments convince you of their power.

As said before, Hope, not the Pollyanna-ish weak variety, but the active variety, is a radical act. Trump and the Powers That Be want you to give into despair. They want you to believe that this is how the world is supposed to be and you're foolish for dreaming of anything better. They want you to believe that they will always have the power and they simply cannot be toppled, and you're foolish to think that we can make a fairer, more equitable world. It's your duty to say, "No. Fuck you," and again, fight them at every turn.
