DVD-rw's are really useful! Er, you're probably talking about film DVDs though, aren't you..?

Both. I haven't had a working disk drive for years, but tons of worthless disks taking up storage space.
What do you use a DVD-rw for? I just use a usb stick.

A sense of permanence, you know? I use them for the same things (just about) as USBs-- whenever a new version of an OS I use is released, I make a CD. I spend a few minutes making a nice label with a permanent marker and all, jajaja.
It's really unnecessary, but handy-- if I didn't have any DVD-rws, I'd just use the same USB over and over again with no consistent image to lean back on since it'd always be set to the ``image of the week.''
