I don't like stealing because it deprives another person of an item. It doesn't matter if the item is owned by a large store or business. If the thief is desperate for food then I think it's forgivable to steal food.

I am OK with stealing if it is not for personal benefit, such as throwing tea into the harbor to make a point of resistance. Allegedly some of the Sons of Liberty were stuffing tea leaves into their pockets and were promptly yelled at since that would degrade the message they were sending.
