I need recommendations for BOOTS

Help me, I want to consume BOOTS. I need them for WORK (☠) I need advice from WORKERS (☠)

The boots need to be waterproof, durable, and generally won't get me laughed at by the Man. Anywhere between construction work to standing in front of a dish pit to the rough outdoors. Black is my color.

I am willing to take advantage of massive, fossil fueled, global supply networks to deliver me a permanent pair of BOOTS. I do not necessarily have to be vegan for these BOOTS, I just want to consume.

I do not want to consume. I never consume. I am poor, so I want to know I am making a correct investment. Is there a consumer advice board? Who am I asking...

Military Surplus Stores can be a good place for cheap good quality boots, at least in my country they are.

Try thrifting first! If theres local classifieds in your area look there, most good workboots are made to last, i found a great pair of work boots for about $20 second hand. A good pair of boots will hold value if taken care of so if you decide to find a different job you might be anle to re sell them later, theres always people looking for a good deal on some steel toes.

I feel so silly having not thought of that! Unfortunately I'm in a suburban desert, and haven't been able to thrift for months. Closest stores would be multiple hours of bicycling. I'll try just for you.

Just a heads up I have never had much luck with footwear in thrift stores personally though this is because I have larger feet. If you run a more average size shouldn't be a problem.

Timberland are a good brand, idk how easy they are to find secondhand. I got them provided by an employer and have not needed new ones ever.

To address the consumption concern, i'd suggest local co-operative, diy repair, small/slow farms and wildcrafting/gleaning . some of mine got holes and need repairing.
