I hope that I am and always will be one who walks away from Omelas.

No one is free until all of us are free and our freedom is intrinsically linked. So going into that door I would be prioritizing my own freedom at the expense of others who aren't going through the door. I don't think I could do that.

I would go through, fall down the endless void and wake up from my dream.

I don't think there can be a genuine utopia beyond the door if on this side civilization continues to kill and torture quietly.

If someone showed me a magic button that would reduce the amount of animals killed or tortured(without affecting the rest) I would press.

If I can leave unscathed, sure why not

Well, sure, I guess, but only if I could come back through the door. I'd bring back treats (^-^) and would eventually become known as the USPS (Utopia Snack Piss Satan), by giving out edible delights so delicious, all the hate and violence in the world would melt away.

Eventually the treats would stop, as I grow old and fade into dirt. This is where savior turns to devil. The world would destroy itself trying to replicate morsels of nirvana, and only then, would my revenge be complete. Mankind ill deserves lasting snack salvation. They deserve a taste, in order to feel the unbearable agony of having had and having lost tasty tasty paradise (^_~*).

no because most other people's idea of utopia is most likely a living nightmare for me

What's your utopia?

ziq wrote

A mountain with no people, fruit everywhere, and zero water scarcity.

I am for something more realistic like a dry mountain with no people, full of edible (but not tasty) roots, some wild berries, some wild nuts in the few somewhat fertile places, and the rest vast deserts...

Already have that.

Hell yeah. If I don't like it I can always leave. And if I can't leave, then congrats they built a great trap and thus earned my soul.

The rest of y'all will find it eventually. shrugs

who the heck is this person?

It doesn't really matter. It could be you finding it.

how do you make a true utopia?

A dinner party, followed by embroidery.

what is a true utopia?

The social environment you would like best to inhabit.
