i recently deleted my facebook but before i did i got contact information from everyone that wanted to keep in touch. now i try to make time to actually keep in touch with people via text and email and snail mail.

it's been really great for my mental health. social media steals a lot of social interaction and replaces it with passive social relationships which is where our alienation is coming from.

i've found that it's been a challenge to know what to say in ways that aren't just shouting into the social media void to try to find engagement, but it's been really rewarding.

Usually I just work on myself so I can do right by future social interactions.

Watch twitch. Listen to ASMR. Read up on recent celebrity drama. Nothing healthy really.

Sit with the feeling. Stay up late and have a big cry.

I don't get lonely often but it does happen occasionally.

Usually go as far into nature as my situation allows and just soak in the peace of it for a while.

If that doesn't help and they're available I might call or visit one of my friends and talk and hang out for a while.

I savour the precious moments of silence, for they are few and hard to come.
