I'd say for me its mostly a blend of apathy and personal dysfunction surrounding becoming non-cis. I'd rather just deny being cis than performing any particular subset of non-cis identities. I think my identification as pansexual/gay-as-a-catchall-for-queer makes my own gender irrelevant.
Long ago I stopped choosing to be cis. I just never landed on anything concrete.
This is coming from someone amab/socialized as a boy, so plenty of privilege and masc-assumedness happens.
