For the most part it's funny to laugh at billionaires having problems.

There are probably those affected locally that would get my sympathy, but in general global trade is the cause of the problems you listed, not the solution...

Why are they lacking food...

A. The "land owners" exported the food via global trade, instead of proving for their community.

B. The "land owners" were fighting over resources for global trade and not allowing the community to produce sufficient food.

C. The "land owners" were manipulating the cost of food production due to being able to benefit from global trade.

D. The community over-extended itself due to reliance of food received via global trade due to the benefits of exploitative global trade practices.

Should I go on?

So fuck cargo ships, and especially fuck birthday gifts, fuck all socially obligated gifts. Let's just have a party, or go relax in nature (beach, mountains, rainforest, arctic tundra, active volcano, etc.)

The Suez Canal represents the utter failure of capitalist society to meet people's basic needs. Yes in a way it is sad. All capitalism is sad. But we have to laugh when terrible ideas (like giant boats that can only be unloaded in a few spots in the world) blow up in our faces.

Ship big. Canal small. How big ship get sideways in small canal? Why make such small canal for such big ships? Why not make canal bigger if ships getting through so important? Why they do that?

For me it is why the heck are we making such big ships in the first place. There is more than one of these chokepoints in the world. Canals and ports and straights that are so absolutely critical and high stakes, because the system is brittle and unsuited to adaptation or flexibility in any way.

groovygardener42069 wrote

That too - not just why not bigger canal but also why not smaller ships? They could even use the ones that go neeeyyyyyooooom and get stuff to market that much faster and cooler

It makes me imagine a world where someone blows up all the major canals in the world that humans use exclusively w/out any way for animals to move through.

Look what happened because of what you did, what it led to! There are stuck boats out there! A boat is stuck... ...You're laughing. You're laughing. Trade was blocked today because of what you did.
