I want to move to Vermont at some point and build a cob house with my family, but I don't want to contribute to locking more land under deed away from indigenous people. Is there a way to participate in decolonization without giving more power to capitalist ownership models but while still having some place to live semi-freely?

Chances are that unless the land you're seeking is either a massive tract (hundreds of acres or more!) or directly bordering a known reservation than it would never be granted to natives. Don't feel bad for wanting to have a few acres to yourself to live happily and freely. I wish more people would return to nature.
