if I focus on flavor: mezcal, peat-smoked scotch, almost anything has an anise or fennel flavor like arak, ouzo, or raki. almost anything herbal and not very sweet. used to order a negroni or old fashioned on occasion, but I like trying different local specialties wherever I am.
that being said, drinking these is a rare and hyped occasion for me due to cost. I generally have beer (rare favorites are oud bruin and wild ale) or dry red wine (malbec, chianti, and natural/raw wine (only had it once but amazing)).
but beyond just taste (because drinking is only so much about taste), a favorite is what fits the moment. which could be almost anything. even a warm can of tecate.
