Once I drank some almond milk that spoiled and fermented if that counts.

Probably straight tequila. It’s effective, and I hate having a mild buzz. Weak depressants make me depressed. I’d rather take 5-8 shots and be genuinely fucked up than have a beer to relax.

I enjoy Bloody Mary occasionally, as, probably, one of most affordable and easy to made cocktails. It's basically tomato juice + vodka + any spices you can find.

The cheapest whiskey + cola + a slice of lemon or orange is also one of my cocktails of choice.

As for a basic alcohol, I prefer a strong beer. 8+% of alcohol.

Edit: also, the strike from my past - the cheapest port wine + an energetic drink. Oh, nostalgia! Oh, youth!

Do you know about the caesar? Its a little stronger flavour wise, as well as a little more flexable with garnashes....unfortunately most bars dont do it right... so ihs good to know how to make a good one at home. Not enough worcstershire sauce, hot sauce etc

if I focus on flavor: mezcal, peat-smoked scotch, almost anything has an anise or fennel flavor like arak, ouzo, or raki. almost anything herbal and not very sweet. used to order a negroni or old fashioned on occasion, but I like trying different local specialties wherever I am.

that being said, drinking these is a rare and hyped occasion for me due to cost. I generally have beer (rare favorites are oud bruin and wild ale) or dry red wine (malbec, chianti, and natural/raw wine (only had it once but amazing)).

but beyond just taste (because drinking is only so much about taste), a favorite is what fits the moment. which could be almost anything. even a warm can of tecate.

And here I was, thinking there were only White Russians.

I liked those too but haven't found a good replacement for heavy cream.

In cooking, or with coffee/tea i think oat milk works really well as a replacement for heavy cream, because sometimes it has a thickness to its consistency that's more like cream than milk, but I guess that's depending on the brand you use. Also I wouldn't know if the taste works with alcohol?

Other than that I mostly use coconut milk as a cream substitute, it's delicious, but obvs has a strong flavour, so it wouldn't be entirely the same drink taste-wise i guess.

Coconut cream certainly didn't work. made it taste like coffee mixed with pina-colada.

I've been meaning to try oat milk anyway, might give it a try next time.

haha, aw man, sorry. that sure sounds awful!

let me know how it goes, if you'd like to. the thing with oat milk is - at least in my experience & where i'm from - that it is not like milk, where you buy a bottle and no matter what brand it is, it tastes roughly the same. I found that there are huge differences in taste with oat milk, so you might need to experiment a bit

make a syrup by boiling ground ginger, a sprig or two of rosemary, lemon juice and sugar, near the mix to taste with soda water and canadian club, or other rye whiskey. go heay handed with the ginger. Leave out some of the sugar if you onyl have 7-up/sprite.

I like negronis a lot and I just tried some green chartreuse for the first time which was neato but not something I could drink regularly

I like cider, especially rosé cider, but regular cloudy is alright too.

Rose wine is good, like me my pink moscato.

I've been getting into cherry bakwells a lot. It's amaretto with cherry juice/lemonade. So refreshing.

Whenever places open up again, I'll probably get back into my jager. Jagerbombs for life!!

Molotov, since no one went for the obvious joke.

I do not drink; I find the "warm" feeling in the pit of my stomach to be too reminiscent of nervousness to even bother.

Right now it's cheap whisky with ice. I used to like slightly more expensive stuff but variety is the spice of life.
