Yes! Do you live in cold weather climate?
ziq wrote
Only in winter, and never below 0C. I'll pm you the location.

I've wanted to do something like that but it's slim pickings around here. Very few places where the police won't randomly stumble upon you.

Yes, especially since they raise my rent every year.

Living in a cheap and lovely commune, pay rent but nobody really is making money off of me, so I'm doing fine with it.

No, she's a nice lady and at this point we deal with the systems we live under. She doesn't rent gouge and has a nice garden. I'm sure she would be open to trading value or work for rent instead of money, but I've never brought it up with her.

It really depends on how they are as a person. I never hate a landlord for being a landlord because they are just a middle person and steward appointed from the system to take care of what is essentially "the government's land". The landlord I have now is actually really friendly and understanding. But I hate the concept of "landlord" and I see the legitimization of their authority to be allowing parasitic thugs to rule land we all live on. They are class traitors as much as anyone contributing to the system, but I wouldn't listen to them if it wasn't for the biggest class traitors of them all...the cops. Ultimately the authority of the landlord is only legitimized through violence of police/army.
With the history on Turtle Island, you'll find that they got the land by raping and destroying those that were already there, does it make sense to think that they deserve it because of this? I don't even see how this doesn't violate the NAP in an ayncap's point of view...
tl;dr: I hate the concept of "landlords", not landlords themselves (unless they are also shitty people).

My current landlord is one of the best I've ever had. Doesn't complain if the rent is a few days late, doesn't ever drop by, and even replaced the fridge when I asked. We'll see if my positive estimation still persists when I try to move out, tho.

I've had a landlord like that. When I went to move out he suddenly had all kinds of problems with the state of the property after I left. Basically treated the security deposit as a reno fee.

In the country where I live security deposits are almost never returned in full. My previous landlords ripped me off on shit that was already broken when I moved in. Taught me to take pictures of / report everything before moving in.
DissidentRage wrote
Yeah that was the lesson I learned, as well. I especially make sure they're timestamped so they can't go "oh well he must've taken that picture when he moved in!"
