The examples I gave were The Ukrainian free terriotry (until it was conquered by the Soviet Imperialism), the Korean People's association in Manchuria (until it was conquered by japan), and further ones are anarchist Catalonia (until it was betrayed by MLs), and for maybe anarchist, though I'm either not familiar enough with them to say for sure what they are, Rojava (don't know much about it but I hear it's libertarian socialist), Cherán, and the Paris Commune (though this seems a bit too authoritarian to really be anarchist).

I guess I classify successful as "didn't collapse in on itself, or only feel because of invasions", which might not be the best definition I suppose.

Perhaps another definition is, a successful anarchist project may remove state and market relationships from an area, while providing for the basic needs of people (general physical safety, food, shelter, etc), and allow flowers to bloom (cultural and scientific activity continue or accelerate within the reclaimed area). So, bread & roses.

I like this approach differently, because it is less militaristic, and less based on deification of individual generals, and more open to a wide definition of success. It also opens the possibility to discuss where projects have went off the rails or slipped out of a trajectory that aligns to anarchist goals. I also think it is more representative of the goals of many anarchist and communist I know, who would not necessarily be happy to rot away in a guerilla camp if possible to avoid that.

I'd say it's a reasonable classification. Kind of hard to give successful examples of unprecedented systems of societal organization given how often the dominant regime is threatened enough to actively undermine any attempts at defying it.

Any ML that would dismiss your examples shouldn't complain about how Western Imperialism interferes with The Revolution and would also have to renounce the various former communist/socialist nations. And they won't do that because then their whole ideology falls apart.
