They do not, however, harvest themselves.

So you would have to sell the harvest rights on a per season basis.

Not sure how that is much different from renting real estate to someone.

One might say, comrade, the most passive (least effortful) non-exploitative income is good hard labor towards one's immediate needs, comrade, since it bypasses the exploitation wrought by employer-employee relations, comrade.
