Don't have a gun license (gun laws) but am planning on getting one. Plus gun laws restricting the types of firearms you can buy aswell

Same situation here. Honestly though, even a pump action shotgun is much better than nothing.

Who needs firearms when you have a pitchfork?

One day, I might learn about other types of weapons, but guns to me are terrifying.

Are there plants other than pepper that can be used for a pepper-type spray? I know that buttercup is quite irritating, so perhaps that might have use.

Edit: Parsnip sap too, perhaps, if I were that cruel.

What firearms can do is pretty crazy but the way I see it is that if fascists are going to be armed, I sure as hell need to be armed. Maybe I wouldn’t feel the need to own weapons in a utopian global communist society but I probably won’t live to see that day.

no because I don't want to deal with the bureaucracy involved in getting a license. I'm probably not even allowed a license because (reasons).

I’m not fond of the bureaucracy either. But hey, if you want a firearm regardless of whatever laws you’re faced with, you can always count on Deterrence Dispensed. ;)

Have you contacted them? I'd like their non-3d printed "hardware-store" documents if you have access. Feel free to PM me

a .45

AK-47, all black, tactical railings, I plan to add more but it's just iron sights for now. not that it's necessary, she is incredibly and frighteningly accurate.

I want a smaller handgun, for more easy concealed carry.

the handgun was a gift, the long gun was bought from a friend.

The AK is too easy to aim at medium range. Definitely my favorite, handguns are very difficult for me. I hope, in the future when i might have more money, to get a longer range weapon and start a markswomens' club. A crossbow would be nice too, it's satisfying to shoot longbows ime. But there's no free cash right now, everything is quite tight and there's too much gene editing equipment higher up on the list.

I wish i haven't had to use them outside of range trips. the world is fucked up. but such things recede into the past...

Question, are you located in the U.S? If so, why not an AR platform rifle instead of an AK? Planning to get one in the future?

Also, tip for handgun shooting. If you can afford it in the future get a cheap .22 handgun. Much easier to practice the basics with and get used to them. Ammo is also cheap for them so you get more practice in overall.

celebratedrecluse wrote

not in USA, AKs cheaper. I also prefer them based on my shooting experience, AKs are more reliable and easier to aim. YMMV

You're right, I will keep that in mind

istisidi wrote

Niceeee. AKs are completely banned here but I love their looks and reputation.

No.

I've got a lot of reasons, the main ones being that I simply don't have the space for a gun safe or the desire to spend the money.

If I ever feel the need to get a weapon, I'd probably look up ways to make my own; I've always thought that the weapons that prisoners make were really interesting.

Oh forget prison guns, in the ‘free world’ you can make guns like the FGC-9 and P.A Luty 9mm SMG. Deterrence Dispensed is also going to be working on firearms in higher calibers like maybe 5.56 or something so be on the lookout.

OdiousOutlaw wrote

Well, yeah; I have access to more materials and resources than people in jail or prison. The first thing that sprung to mind when it came to improvised weapons was people prison. But I'll definitely be looking into that sort of thing when I'm not living in a garage and have an actual place to hide it.

I own a 20 gauge shotgun, an AR platform rifle, a .22 rifle, and three handguns, my favorite of which is my .357 revolver

celebratedrecluse wrote

if you can speak to experience with revolvers or other handguns, your words would be well received by me

I'll work on it the next few days, sorry for the delay. Been a little busy

polpotisevil2 wrote

I'll make a short post in /f/guns in the future about handguns. I'm not the most experienced with them but I can at least help with some common issues that I've worked through the hard way by myself.

No because Scandinavia....

4

istisidi wrote

Correct me if I’m wrong but can’t you still get bolt-action rifles in Scandinavian countries? Sure it’s no AR15 but even a bolt-action rifle is infinitely better than nothing. Also as disfalo said, you can manufacture your own firearms like an FGC-9 if you really want to own something while circumventing bureaucracy.

4

NOISEBOB wrote

I don't know what a bolt-action riffle is, but yeah, guns are available to members of hunting clubs - I think they can store them in their homes after some years...

I plan on getting some soon. I have my eye on some ARs but not too sure which type yet. I'll probably go with an AR pistol and a stabilizing brace. I also have my eye on the Remington 700, A nice AK, and a few antique muzzle loaders (I like old stuff).

4

istisidi wrote

AR pistols are the shit! Just be sure you don’t go too short on barrel length because the 5.56 round was made for a 20” barrel. The shorter you go, the less velocity it has, the less effective it is.

4

celebratedrecluse wrote

if you have info or experience with black powder, please share

2

Glenn_carbon wrote (edited )

Black powder is really pretty easy once you get the basics down. I think the most important thing would be to clean the gun after every use because black powder tends to corrode the barrel pretty fast if you don't. I don't own any at the moment but when I was younger I had a Thompson Center Hawken 50 cal and it held up well. You just have to take care of them (like anything really)

istisidi wrote

No, I’m a year too young to apply for a license and my country has some pretty wack gun laws so I can’t own anything comparable to what police have. If I go the legal route I’d probably just get an SKS and a cheap pump shotgun. Main issue is that an SKS isn’t very manoeuvrable in CQB and I’m not sure which bullpups are still legal. Even if there was a legal bullpup, they tend to be pretty damn expensive.

I’m not too sure if I want to go the illegal route or settle for a repeating crossbow. If I have a good place to hide a gun I might as well own one in case the opportunity for revolution ever presents itself.

4

Asa wrote

I have access to some, but I don't own them. Honestly, it's mostly because I'm mildly afraid of them. And because I'm too lazy to get a license, buy one, and practice with it.

Both legal and illegal firearms. Mostly illegal. For the illegal ones, stuff bought from non-background checks, non-serial AR lowers milled from 80% lowers, 3D printed lowers in PLA+, actual lowers milled from home CNC machine and few zip guns self-built. As for the legal ones, just basic non-registered that were grandfathered. I live in the middle of nowhere so not much to check.
