Supplying addicts is good.

i mean, i could definitely see the argument for supplying addicts who were suddenly stripped off of their meds because its a fucked up thing that happens. but i doubt that they would ween themselves off of it if they can still get their fix without a prescription.

Who are you to tell addicts when they need to ween themselves off it?

strawman- i never claimed that addicts need to continue to do drugs or need to quit drugs. im just considering the people who would want to quit drugs or would be better off without drugs but cant make that choice because they're addicted. let me throw a strawman back your way; who are you to force addicts to stay hooked on the drugs which have destroyed their health, wallets, and social lives? who are you to ensure that there is no help for them, that they should only ever receive more and more drugs, force them to turn to crime to fund their addiction, and destroy their bodies until their inevitable death?

Of course the best solution is a legit safe drug supply, ie. heroin from the state or medical labs or whatever, but until then people need to get their drugs from somewhere.

i agree

Prohibition doesn't work & just kills people, no reason to villainize drug dealers, especially if they do the best they can.

how are you under the impression i want to prohibit drugs when i am literally thinking of selling them?

edit: I'd recommend the Crackdown podcast for more radical drug politics.

ill check them out, but i am just concerned for peoples lives and well being. doing drugs when you're addicted isn't really a choice like choosing what to eat for lunch. i think it's extremely ignorant, selfish, and inconsiderate to support all drug use because you think that makes you more libertarian or something. im not saying that's what you're doing, but that's what it sounds like from your rhetoric. people killing themselves and living a life slaving for a hit isn't liberating, it is quite the opposite.

i see your point, i'd agree. i just ask because i want to be careful that im not partaking in anything unethical. i dont care about making money illegally, just so long as im not harming poor/working class people.
