During his talk at 36c3 last December, Moxie was asked why Signal users should take Amazon's "pinkie promise" of not monitoring traffic meta-data. As I heard it, Moxie didn't deny this but started defending it by arguing that their app was designed so it didn't matter where it was hosted, which I took this to mean that their service was indeed hosted on AWS.

However, I can only find posts about how OWS has used Amazon for domain fronting.

Strangely, the video of the talk has been deleted, but the discussion on HN still exists.

So maybe not anyway.
