These aren't from COINTELPRO, they were first posted as a "leaked" document from a police department (who apparently use reddit private messages to communicate?). A lot of people, myself included, think this was a forgery created by a conspiracy theorist, due to the language used in the document. For example, one passage says, "...it then leaves the enforcement agencies unable to track the percentage of those in the population who always resist attempts for control against them." What police department would say that? Cops don't think they are trying to control the population, they think they are locking up dangerous individuals and potential terrorists "for the greater good" (and they're wrong, but that's what they believe). No police department would use this kind of language, so it's pretty obvious that this was written by someone critical of them.

But, regardless of the origin and authenticity of this document, these are indeed techniques to watch out for. At the same time, don't look for a conspiracy where there isn't one. Not every troll or critic is a "disirformation agent." Don't start a witch hunt against someone who questions our tactics without evidence that they're a troll, because they very well could be legitimate. In short, never assume malice when ignorance will suffice.

Also, if we ever wanted to shut down a fascist forum, these techniques (at least, the first half) would be a good starting point.

Hm. Well, that does take some of the wind out of the wiki sails.

w/Infiltrators has been made anyway. Hopefully with time it can be updated to be entirely its own document.
