It's kinda surreal seeing the thing that everyone knew would happen actually happen in real time.

I refuse to provide context for this statement because a) I assume it's obvious, and b) I am very, very tired.

Hell, it's even funny if you're on the inside but can get out. I feel bad for my friends who don't have the means to leave though.

It's entirely predictable, has been predicted, and will be predicted again.

Nothing to see here, but the broadening consciousness of the insufferable hierarchies that choke us.

I like to think that I'm playing 4d chess here, but listen to this full post before commenting.

Trump is an agent of Antifa & he doesn't even know it.

What does America get with Joe Biden? An establishment politician who will pander only to the extent to keep us on his side. Whereas Trump was destroying the establishment, he was causing chaos in the political elite & during his tenure we saw a massive boost in the popularity of the populist left, & a wide spread support from the democrat party.

I feel that if Trump won he would have beaten the establishment to death & the democrat party would have fully been replaced with progressives giving our movement much more power & influence to change the system in 4 years. Now we're stuck with a shit Joe Biden who will probably just cause people to vote republican in the next election OR win a second term & now the american antifa movement is set back 2 elections rather then just 1.

What are your thoughts on this?

This is basically just accelerationism. It's possible that Trump being obviously terrible does bolster support for the left a little bit, but it's not at all clear that the benefits of this actually outweigh the harm done by Trump directly.

The first time Trump won, the opposite happened. Establishment democrats doubled down on attacking the more progressive elements in the party and pushing the least radical candidate possible. I see no reason to expect that a second Trump term would have changed this.

The "antifa movement" does not progress in units of "elections." There is no realistic path to radical change through the electoral system. This is why efforts to resist fascism go beyond just voting for the less fascist option.
