This obsession with neoliberalism is annoying.

It is capitalism that is the problem.

Neoliberalism is just its latest incarnation as to what capitalism looks like 26 years after its geopolitical ideological rival has bitten the dust.

This is what capitalism is now that it no longer needs to compete with a USSR. One of the ways capitalism chose to compete was by improving workers lives so they could go "look, those stupid fucking commies are queuing for food" meanwhile they ratcheted up their arms to ensure the ussr overspent its GDP on military.

Well look whose queuing overnight and in their thousands to get basic medical care seen to

With the disappearance of the USSR the capitalists invaded and dismembered the other workers state, Yugoslavia then western governments from Bill Clinton to Blair further destroyed unions and dismantled the welfare state.

With the USSR gone they invadedand dismembered the other non stalinist socialist state so they could scream about TINA, there is no alternative, what incentive is there to improve workers lives in the west?

That is why a long thought eradicated disease like hookworm is now infecting 30% of some communities in Alabama, thats why some communities in the US have lead in their drinking water and its why food bank useage is the highest its ever been in the Uk.

The capitalists have risen above the nation state and are no longer confined to it. They do not care if places like Alabama or detroit or north england have hookworm or clean water. Their children will go to elite schools in New York, london or paris.

The future of capitalism is wealthy pockets around the globe and crushing poverty everywhere else. (and even in london you don't have to go far to see working poor)

This stage of capitalism was inevitable yet we keep hearing about the stage and not the political economic ideological system.

But I expect no less from Chomsky who always harkens back to the golden age of capitalism - despite that golden age being an extremely limited members club and that it was utterly circumstance that capitalism was so prosperous for that period. (europe destroyed and on its lease-lend leash, the only geopolitical rival being the USSR that was helping poor impoverished nations communists come to power).

They are not content until they own everything. Until all the water is privatized, until qorkers rights are utterly in the bin. Every dollar or euro you have is a dollar or euro they could have. euro

They are going for a complete and total class victory and they'll climb over millions of bodies to do it.
