It to be libre software. ;w;
If you wanna give it a go, there's this really nice RPG Maker replacement under development, that's fully compatible with playing it's games (it's editor still isn't usable, though), EasyRPG. Until the EasyRPG editor's done, you could use r48 (source) (bin), which is a full-featured (and RPG Maker/EasyRPG-compatible) editor, and it's pretty good.

Other than that, I can't think of much to suggest. I'm just interested to what kind of game comes out of your head.

Bosses could be actual titans of industry. Include a scene where you get to eat a CEO. The police chief is actually just a boot.

An explicitly transfem character who isn't either transmasc-coded but still a "respectable" woman or transfem but a sexpot (or at least not one aimed specifically for cis people's tastes). I love Faris and Kaine to death, but it'd be nice to see a trans woman just like, engaged in the plot without serving as the protag's dirty little secret/backup love interest or comic relief or both. That's a major thing that makes me uncomfortable with a lot of VNs and what little rep we get in video games and I'm sick of the only respectful trans rep in RPGs being bit characters or trans men.

It would be cool to have an arc where a character comes out and then begins to transition throughout the game. I think a lot of people tend to think of trans people after/before the transition and not during.

RPGBoss, Open RPG Maker and EasyRPG are FOSS alternatives to it.

I haven't tried them yet, but what attracts me to MV is the character designer and the ease to export the finished game to various platforms (linux, win, ios, android, web browsers) meaning people will actually play it.

Seriously, how cool would it be to go to anarchyRPG.com and just start playing in browser?

I would love to play something with a similar lighthearted feel as Earthbound, with a plot that involves going around and helping people in different situations and using teamwork between your party and the communities you encounter to take down powerful hierarchical structures that actively oppress others. Also, being able to customize your characters’ appearance and specify whatever genders and pronouns each identify with.

Something I've think about is how in some satires that include magic, it's mentioned that the flashiness is often unnecessary and usually done as a show of strength or because is cool.

How about if magic went through a process similar to ancient Mandarin, in that it was deliberately made harder to keep the lower classes from learning it and called the simpler/easier magic performed by the lower classes dark/evil.

Gameplay-wise, this would mean that white magic is especialized towards a type (fire, ice, healing, etc) while dark is a jack of all trades (maybe even allow magic combos).

I'd like it to be at least as much about building something together as tearing shit down.

give more exp for doing the opposite of what authoritarian NPC quest givers require. Like 'kill this person for stealing stuff' to befriending them to join the cause.
