I'm still super keen to collectively put together a FAQ of common misconceptions around anti-civ things, if anybody is interested. I think it's be great to have something definitive to link to instead of rehashing arguments with people.

The ableism thing

The medicine thing

The transphobia thing

What else is there?

The idea that anticiv is a "death cult" when the opposite is demonstrably true (civilization destroys all life - has created the worst mass extinction in natural history). The idea that anticiv causes famine when the opposite is demonstrably true (civilization / agriculture has led to devastating famines) . The idea that the problem is capitalism, not civilization when those famines and ecocides have been going on under civilization long before capitalism.

EDIT

The lie that everyone died when they were 30 before civ.

EDIT

The idea that we need industrial agriculture to feed the world, when the fact is that industrial agriculture sterilizes the soil and will soon make us unable to feed the population, cause a massive increase in the cost of food and bring us mass starvation, war, genocide.

top comments seem pretty positive for reddit, lots of weirdly angry anti-primitivists mixed in. isn't desert part of their reading list? you'd think there'd be some more informed commenters

its ignorant hate , if they read anything remotely anti-civ or primitivist they'd have better critiques

If we weren't brigading it, it would be a lot worse.
