I'd have to say the police. They're the ones that are trained and conditioned to brutally crush any dissent. Soldiers are a lot less willing to kill their own people in their own country, but police won't hesitate for a second before shooting into a crowd.

This. The rich, the monarchs, the fash dictators, the tankie dictators, they're all propped up by bootlickers. Take out the bootlickers and the power base of the oppressor collapses. Remove the enablers of abuse and the abusers are exposed to daylight and torn to shreds by the people.

Bootlickers exist even in anarchist circles. Obviously the most glaring examples are proud snitches like Bob Black and Prince_Kropotkin from reddit, but there are a lot of so-called anarchists that, when it comes down to it, aren't willing to risk the few privileges they have - the manarchists, the anarcho-zionists, and even Platformists and Syndicalists that put their job security above all else.

Basically the entire middle class are bootlickers that defend the system and make sure the lower classes can never rise up and threaten their positions.

It doesn't end with the middle classes, even people that are poor as shit will cling to whatever privilege they have - the whole "I might be broke, but at least I aint Irish / Polish / black / Mexican" thing was invented to keep capitalism afloat and the people from revolting.

I'm going with educators. They get their hooks in us from an early age, filling our heads with liberal nonsense and the celebration of European imperialism and white supremacy.

What if being a neoliberal politician would become so dangerous that no one would dare run for office because it would be like painting a target on their back? The whole system would collapse.

Or better yet, target their security teams when they're off duty. If no one will risk guarding a politician, no one will become a politician in the first place.

The corporate media - without them constantly bombarding the populace with brainwashing propaganda, society would stop bowing down to authority.

This seems like it's meant to be a joke answer, but people like Musk are what convince proles to accept rulers...

The benevolent bourgie that everyone admires and is inspired by because of the wonderful technology he gives them out of the goodness of his heart. He'll get us the fuck off this rock! ALL PRAISE OUR SAVIOR! <3 <3

Humanity.

What do you mean by that?

The vast majority of people clearly reject freedom in favor of servitude to wealthy rulers.

For 100 years, we've gotten so close to achieving anarchism, only to watch every effort be sabotaged by the majority.

In Spain the tankies sold us out to the fascists because they couldn't stand to see a world without a state and would even accept a fascist state over anarchy.

In Russia, the revolution instantly led to the people handing the power to yet another set of hungry dictators that wanted to crush all dissent (and kill every anarchist that dared question their power).

In Greece more recently, a catastrophic failure of neoliberalism led to uprising, the overthrowing of the old parties, and then led to the people putting all their trust in Syriza - who instantly stabbed them in the back and moved even further towards austerity and neoliberalism, selling Greece to foreign interests piece by piece.

The problem is obvious - humanity is not evolved enough to deserve anarchism. After every revolution is fought, we turn around and install new rulers to lord over us. The majority of humanity doesn't want freedom. We shoot ourselves in the foot every single time because we'd rather not give up the possibility of maybe becoming VIPs one day and having more than our neighbors.

So how does anarchism happen if the vast majority of the populace don't want it and would rather gamble with capitalism?

The issue is a psychological one. Why do humans destroy the sea, land and air for temporary profit, fucking over future generations? Why do we love being ruled over by disgustingly rich people in golden crowns? Why do sick poor people vote for a billionaire that promises he will take away their healthcare and deport them? There's nothing logical about anything we do.

Edward Bernays has a lot to do with our ignorance, he perfected corporate/state propaganda, manipulating us en masse into going against our own interests and instead doing the will of the rich. But very few people in the West are ever going to care enough to educate themselves to overcome their brainwashing. They're just too addicted to oppression - both receiving it and giving it.

I don't know what the answer is, but the only way we can ever be free is if humanity collectively evolves past the desire to be shackled.

People that can still see that capitalism (which is merely the result of having a currency) served them well for decades. What type of Anarchist are you guys purporting to be?
