I just had a discussion with two friends of mine. They're both somewhat politically engaged, but they don't care a lot, since to them, politics means politicians and the boring and useless bullshit that they learned in school.
I tried explaining self-governance and anarchism to them. At first they fired off all the classic indoctrinated arguments, such as "but it would be chaos without government!", and "but not all people want the best for others". They kept going for a long time with these, and after i had explained the answer to each of their arguments, they simply shut up and told me they didn't want to talk about it.
Why are people so ignorant when it comes to anarchism specifically? It seems that they just shut off their logic as soon as they run out of arguments. How do i explain anarchism in a way that makes it available to "this kind of people", so to speak?
